TIAC’s 2021 Tourism Congress Plenary Designed to meet your Comfort and Needs
While we are all looking forward to meeting again in person, we understand that each person will have a different level of comfort with regards to personal space and physical contact. TIAC’s comfort zone plan will allow you to customize your onsite experience. To facilitate different preferences, we’ve designed the plenary room with two seating zones.
Green means go!
Delegates seated in the green zone will have the opportunity to sit in lounge groupings or at tables of 4-10 people without social distancing. Connect with old friends or make new ones in a cozier seating zone meant for socializing and networking.
Blue means space
Delegates in the blue zone can choose between individual seating maintaining a full 2 metres distance from other delegates or choose to sit at a socially distanced lounge grouping or table with 1, 2 or 3 other delegates.
Each zone will have their own entrance to the ballroom with appropriately coloured signage and floor markings. Delegates will select their preferred comfort level in advance and be identified by their badge colour.
Once you select a zone and a seating area within the plenary room, this will be your assigned seat for the remainder of the day. The Westin Ottawa will clean and sanitize the plenary room at the end of each day allowing you the opportunity to select a different seat on day 2.
TIAC is following all provincial guidelines at this year’s Tourism Congress. As such, all delegates must be fully vaccinated at least 2 weeks prior (by November 16th) to Tourism Congress and provide proof of vaccination at registration check-in. Also please remember to bring your mask! All delegates must wear a mask at all times unless seated and eating or drinking.
What’s Your Comfort Level?
Choose Green if:
- You are comfortable seated at a table with up to 5 other delegates
- You are comfortable shaking hands
- You prefer to socialize and sit closer than 2 metres from other delegates
Choose Blue if:
- You prefer not to have any physical contact with other delegates
- You prefer to maintain 2 metres of distancing
- You are more comfortable sitting by yourself or with only one or two other delegates
